Selzer Frosch in Selzen

Was there with my wife to eat on recommendation and made our way from Mainz to Selzen and ate schnitzel and pizza there and were very enthusiastic. Nice atmosphere and super friendly staff and even the chef Giovanni who welcomed us sympathetically with 2 glasses delicious wine. Me and my wife will make our way more often to have delicious food there, keep it up. I can only recommend 🇮🇹❤👍🏼

Friendly service and delicious food.

We had the opportunity to meet the chef / owner Giovanni personally. He recommended a dish that wasn't on the menu: Scaloppina al Limone with polenta and grilled vegetables. It tasted very tasty and makes you want to visit the nicely furnished restaurant again. We felt very comfortable and would love to come back.

All in all, you can eat and drink well there

We went to eat there with the family because it was my mother's birthday, super good food, so the pizza was one of the best I've ever had, my parents also raved about the food (different meat dishes), because my mother had Bday, the owner gave it a little present in the form of a dessert and that was divine. Come again! Service was also super nice and the prices P / L can't be beat

We had 2 schnitzel 👌 very tasty, juicy and correspondingly large. The fries were also very good. Hunter sauce top! Absolute recommendation ☝️ Support the local cuisine !!! Worth it. P.S. We ordered pizzas there for the first time today through a local online provider. First of all, you have to say that you pay around 50% more here than with other local providers in the area. It must be something special, we thought. Delivery fees were also completely in order, the delivery time was given as about 35 minutes (I am aware that this information is not always realistic) After a little over an hour we called again, were more or less kindly put off and we were assured that the pizza would still arrive warm. The supplier must first drive to Undenheim (where is the logistical point of loading a pizza in Selzen, driving to Undenheim, then driving back through Selzen to Mommenheim? Well, entrepreneurial prerogatives, I am not really entitled to judge times because on the second passage through Selzen to Mommenheim a fresh pizza is invited for delivery for us. We were disappointed, about that immediately) When the pizza finally arrived at us after 85 minutes, it quickly became clear that it unfortunately had nothing to do with fresh pizza. The bottom was hard, the cheese cooled down to one unit again, the pizza lukewarm (the assurance that the pizza would arrive warm to us at least partially fulfilled) and the edge so hard that I could hit it with a knife without the pizza being taken with it the eyelash twitched. We thought about baking the pizza again, which was not possible because it was already baked relatively "crispy" (but definitely not burnt!). At a price of ± € 23 for two pizzas we would have expected more. Unfortunately, due to the dry condition, we could no longer judge whether the ingredients used were of high quality for the price. The size was ok and we finally got full. It should be positively emphasized that we were not charged a surcharge for a special order. Then it came back to us that (for Sunday convenience) we preferred to use the delivery service instead of getting into the car and picking it up from an established provider. Unfortunately, no recommendation from me, especially not for the relatively high (and comparable to urban wood-fired pizzerias) price.

The Selzer frog was recommended to us today and we are completely satisfied. Totally enthusiastic about the food, the service and the ambience.

The pizza didn't taste particularly good. The competition from Mommenheim (Alpina Drive, La Calabrisella) offers significantly better pizzas.

Bad service!!! We drove spontaneously to the restaurant today - when we arrived the order was being taken by a lady at a table (the only one with guests) outside. After tables were mostly assigned due to Corona and contact details were requested, we stopped nearby to get one (of the remaining free) tables assigned. After the order was accepted, however, the waitress turned around, did not look at us (although we were noticed) and went into the kitchen. We were not asked for patience, we were not offered to sit down until someone came. After 5 minutes no one came (presumably the lady was allowed to do service & kitchen) and we were still standing outside as ordered and not picked up (nobody was in the restaurant), we decided to go again. We have rarely felt so undesirable and even the guests at the table served perceived it as irritated. It's a shame, but not particularly recommendable because of this experience ...

Food and service just great. Ambience is great too, but that doesn't count. The food was all freshly prepared and tasted very good. Small and nice just to be recommended. keep it up Selzer Frosch

The new Selzer Frosch offers a small but versatile menu, which is implemented extremely delicious, complemented at the time by an equally appetizing sounding "Oktoberfest card". The food is good and plentiful, the service friendly and fast. It does not work out perfectly, but overall, a visit definitely worth it. We will certainly come back and wish the new team much success.

Newly opened restaurant with Mediterranean cuisine. Balanced selection of fish dishes and also the good Schnitzel is represented on the map. Very good service, all dishes freshly prepared. The tarte cake is as good as in Alsace. The grilled octopus is great, only in Asia comparably good. We will be back.

We ate very well and felt warmly welcomed. Do not be put off by these strange photos of a workshop that are still presented here. Selzer Frosch reopened last week after a long break. The ambiance is appealing; you feel good. We'll be back! Thank you and best regards.
